Introducing the Approach Winch Bumper Series from Ascend Fabrications! One of the lowest profile and best looking production bumpers for the GX470 on the market. This bumper is guaranteed to transform the look of your vehicle, give you an unmatched approach angle, more confidence on the trails, and get you all the likes on “Front End Friday” posts. 
 
Aside from style and fitment, it was carefully engineered with materials to take a beating while keeping weight to a minimum. The hybrid wing version weighs in at roughly 85 lbs with hardware, 90 if you include the optional mini skid. It also features integrated mounting brackets for a Diode Dynamics SS 30" lightbar and SSC1, SSC2, or SS3 pod lights, which add performance as well as enhancing its aggressive stance.
 
Another interesting feature of this bumper is its modular design that allows the “wings'' to detach from the center section with high strength bolts. There are a few different benefits from this. First is it makes installation on the vehicle a breeze and can be easily done by a single person. Secondly, it allows for the wings or center to be swapped out in case of damage rather than needing to replace the whole bumper. Another is it allows for much more adjustability than a standard single piece design. You can slightly rotate or shim the wings of the bumper to get the perfect fitment. And lastly it allows the bumper to be packaged in a smaller box and shipped ground, saving you hundreds over what you would pay for freight on a large single piece welded bumper.

WINCH FITMENT:
The bumper was designed using the Harbor Freight Badlands Apex 12K with synthetic line WITHOUT needing to remove and remote mount the control box. Although it is still recomended to remote mount the control box to offer more clearance for the AC lines and added room to fit a cover over the winch when not being used.
Other similar sized or smaller winches may fit.
Must have a 4.5"x10" mounting pattern.
Depending on winch size you might have to relocate the control box and/or clock the winch drum.
Will NOT work with roller fairleads. Must be used with a hawse fairlead.
 
MINI SKID INFO:
This is optional but is highly recomended if going offroad and running over sticks and other debris that could damage the bottom of your radiator.
Covers the gap between the back of the bumper and your stock/aftermarket skid plate to protect the bottom of the radiator.
Made out of 10 gauge steel and includes high strenth hardware.
It was designed with clearance for factory skid plates but may need modification to work with bulky aftermarket skid plates.
 
HEADLIGHT FILLER INFO:
Optional thermoformed plastic filler pieces to take up the gap underneith the headlights caused after you remove the stock bumper.
Sold as a pair (left and right versions).
Comes as raw black abs plastic. There may be variation in color between left/right versions (one might be glossy and other might be matte).
Can leave them raw or paint to colormatch your body. Although it is highly recommended to paint match to body.
Attaches to the underside of the headlights using weatherproof 3M VHB double sided tape.
If you do not run the headlight fillers there will be a gap left between the bumper and headlights. You will not be able to cut your stock bumper to fill this area without it overhanging beyond the bumper.
 
FRAME BRACKETS INFO:
*We are fazing out our old version (V1) and transitioning to the new design (V2) that requires removal of and replaces the outer 3 studs on the ends of both frame rails. V1 is discounted until we run out of stock and will then be discontinued. If you would like V2, please return to the vehicle product page to select them and add to your cart.
Frame brackets are optional but highly recomended if you plan to use the bumper for winching or recovery. 
Formed 1/4" steel brackets with high strength hardware that tie the bumper into the frame for added winch and recovery strenth.
 
READ BEFORE YOU ORDER:
Wings are build standard for stock fenders. If you have aftermarket fenders and would like them cut short, please reach out for an invoice. This is a $100 upcharge.

Removal/cutting of factory bumper fender and center support brackets is required.
Currently only designed for stock body height and suspension lifted vehicles. Having a body lift will result in a gap between the bumper and body.

Plated and hybrid wing styles are interchangable. If you would like to purchase just the wing set to change up the look of your rig, please reach out for a custom invoice.
The bumper is only shipped as raw steel. There may be evidence of anti-spatter spray, oils, areas with light surface rust, small amounts of weld splatter, and shallow scratches caused during manufacturing and/or shipping.
Powdercoating is only available if doing local pickup. If you would like to add ($400), please reach out for a custom invoice. Unless otherwise requested, powdercoating will not be applied to the aluminum front cover. Extra charges apply if you want it coated.
